Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
On a holiday in Morocco, I was fascinated by the decorative screened windows in the kasbahs. In times gone by, these intricately carved screens allowed cooling breezes to skim over the surface of bowls of water placed on window sills. This allowed the interiors to remain somewhat cooler in the scorching heat of the deserts. The occupants living inside were also able to peek at the outside courtyards without being seen. .
76 cm x 76 cm gallery wrapped canvas. High quality artist grade acrylics have been used. I also used my own hand printed collage papers, pencils, mark making tools, stencils and gold leaf accents are used as different elements in this piece. Finished with a low-sheen water-based varnish.
