My love for painting sprang from idle experimentation with tubes of paint my wife brought home one day. I embarked on an unexpected but welcome journey of discovery through the use of colour. Since then I have sold my paintings in New Zealand and Australia.
Nature, travel and life experiences inspire me to paint. My approach to art is intuitive. With an image in mind, I allow my painting to flow and take shape; the joy of spontaneity taking precedence over set outcomes.
I adore colour and the dance of colours leaves me breathless. Texture is another important element in my paintings. My medium is acrylic. Over the years I have enjoyed experimenting with different styles; curious about the outcome and unafraid of where a new style might take me. My paintings are generally abstract, impressionistic and spontaneous.
Painting is such a wonderful way of expressing my emotions and passions. When art lovers tell me what they see in my paintings or the emotions they evoke, I am encouraged to continue this medium of storytelling.
