Pablo Picasso once said "every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up". This is a remarkable sentiment that resonates with my personal experience. In my journey towards adulthood, I had almost lost touch with my passion for art and had taken a prolonged hiatus from the world of colours and brushes. However, I recently rekindled my artistic pursuits and discovered the same joy and wonderment that I experienced as a child.
I vividly recall receiving my first box of oil colours and brushes at the age of nine, which initiated my self-taught journey as an artist. As someone who is captivated by the diversity and beauty of nature, it has become the predominant theme of my art. Living in Melbourne has only further deepened my appreciation for nature, and I often collect natural elements such as sun-dried leaves, foliage, twigs, and pebbles to incorporate into my mixed media paintings.
Although my time is limited as a mother of two and a professional architect, I am driven by the adage that "passion is the art of suffering for what you love." I am constantly exploring and experimenting with different media, including oil, pencil, oil pastels, acrylic, textile art, fabric colours, and most recently, resin and pyrography. I strongly believe that there is no end to learning and discovering new techniques and mediums in the world of art.
Since I came to know about Blue Thumb I knew it’s just the right place for showcasing my creation ! Undoubtedly, this platform presents a tremendous opportunity for creative minds to glean insights from one another's work and advance their own growth.
