A Touch of Spring 1

I've promised myself that by the end of 2020, I would have created still life art I'm proud of. As I work on bettering my oil paintings, I've discovered that gouache is an amazing medium for the style I'm trying to achieve. Gouache is an opaque watercolour that dries with a beautiful matt finish, and the mix of blending and layering allows me to add as much or as little detail as I need.

This is one of a series, designed to fall between a more design and realistic style.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

Please note that the paper size is 15x23cm while the painted section is 12x20cm.
