As I continue my journey into this exciting world of semi-abstract landscapes and oil paint, I'm finding myself stepping outside of my comfort zone and headlong into challenges that I wouldn't have contemplated even a year ago. For all my life, I've been a biological artist focused on detail and realism, so you can imagine how different this is for me. In this piece, I'm taking challenge further and experimenting with colours in a way that focuses more on mood rather than realism.
As with most of my oil pieces thus far, this piece was made with many layers over a long period of time, to allow the various hues and textures to make an impact.
This painting would look amazing in a light frame with light matting. I hope you like it as much as I do.
