I find that I'm constantly going back to the sea for inspiration. Perhaps it's something innate to a resident of Sydney, but the ocean in all its moods is endlessly fascinating to me. In this painting, done with thick oil paint on rough Arches paper, I'm invoking a calm cloudy coast, with swirls of green-blue water around jagged rocks.
This painting is all about the brush strokes, and there are many layers in play, adding to the complexity of the piece.
The painting is custom framed, and has a rope and D ring options for hanging. Frame measures 29x38x2 cm.
