A painting full of texture, created through multiple layers. What makes this painting is the additions and abstractions of layers, giving the painting depth and elevating it beyond the two dimensional. I am really pleased with how the sky has come out, including the shades of blue that vary between kings blue and teal. I feel it really offsets the warms of gold of the clouds.
This is a new technique where I've incorporated wax into my paint, giving the final piece a gorgeous matte appearance. No need for varnish because the matte effect is intentional, and because the wax adds a layer of protection anyway. However, the paint surface will be as hard as a candle so please avoid scratches and get it framed.
