'The Rip' was a Port Phillip Sea Pilots schooner in the 1860s. She is shown in 'The Rip' between Port Phillip heads and approaching the 'Charles Edward' sailing/paddle-wheeler steamer, the first vessel to provide a passenger and cargo service to the important Gippsland Lakes ports.
