Artwork Description

The Blue Boathouse Series came about, when I felt, I needed to grow as an artist and paint a series of artworks in the same style and subject matter, as required by most galleries in order to have a solo exhibition.
But that is my problem: I don’t have a certain style, and enjoy every medium. So I decided to choose one size of canvas and one subject but paint it in many different styles and mediums as I feel like.

Since the Crawley Edge Boathouse is an icon in Perth and I have visited it on many occasions, I decided, this will be the perfect subject for my series.

At the moment I am aiming for ten artworks in this series, but it might be a few more…

Each Blue Boathouse painting is on a 30x30x4cm deep edge canvas and has a 2cm white boarder around it. The artwork is ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.

Lara enjoys opening her studio for visitors. Feel free to contact her, if you are in the Margaret River Region in Western Australia.
