Artwork Description

Before the Night Begins explores the quiet contrast between the stillness of a hotel room and the restless energy of the city beyond. Inspired by the view from a Las Vegas hotel, the painting leaves its story deliberately open. Is this the calm before an evening of bright lights and celebration, or the peaceful pause after the excitement has faded? Only the viewer knows.
Painted in a modern impressionist style, the work favours expressive brushwork, bold colour relationships and shifting values over precise detail. Warm lamplight and rich interior tones create an intimate atmosphere that contrasts with the vibrant glow of the city skyline outside. Influenced by artists such as David Hockney, the painting celebrates the emotional power of colour, light and place, capturing not just a room, but a fleeting moment suspended between anticipation and reflection.
Perfect for collectors who appreciate contemporary interiors, cityscapes, modern architecture and expressive impressionist painting.

Artist Bio

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile.

My journey into art began in 2019, during a time when the world slowed down and many of us had a chance to reflect on what truly matters. For me, it all started with a simple book that encouraged drawing and painting from observation. What began as an experiment quickly turned into a passion. I started with charcoal and pencil sketches—portraits and still life—and soon found myself exploring acrylics and oils. The moment I picked up a brush, something clicked. Creating art became more than a hobby; it felt like a calling.

I’m a self-taught artist, with no formal training—just a deep curiosity and a drive to create. The only early artistic influence in my life was my grandmother, who began painting in her seventies as a way to cope with the loss of my young niece. Her story reminds me that it’s never too late to start something meaningful.

Originally from Budapest, Hungary, I moved to Australia as a teenager. My work is often shaped by both these cultures, and the places and people I’ve encountered along the way. I don’t follow a strict process or plan what to paint ahead of time. Inspiration strikes in a moment—whether it’s an urban landscape, a fleeting feeling, or a piece of modern design—and I follow that impulse straight to the canvas.

My style leans toward modern impressionism, and I’m constantly experimenting, letting curiosity guide me. I aim to create pieces that evoke a sense of beauty, calm, and reflection—offering a glimpse into the way I see the world, with a contemporary twist.

Thank you again for stopping by. I hope my work speaks to you in a way that words sometimes can’t.
