Artwork Description

This is a medium sized abstract painting that was created by building up multiple layers of pattern and colour until a final neutral layer was added. This has created a composition of rounded forms with a broad spectrum of colours. Although multicoloured the predominant colours are yellows, reds and orange.
Areas of the canvas are textured due to the process of creating layers. This would easily sit alongside other art in your collection, as the bold colours would compliment a number of colour schemes or as a stand alone statement piece. The matt taupe background colour softens the vibrancy of the colour and pattern.

PLEASE NOTE: FRAMING

If my work is sold framed please note that sometimes I only get an artwork framed once it is sold. Please allow an additional few days to the shipping time to allow for this.

I am interested the dynamic nature of memory, exploring how meaning and experience can change over time. As abstract landscapes, my work tends to have references to cartography and has developed rapidly over the past few years. My paintings are autobiographical and reference physical journeys and remembered experiences. They combine multiple viewpoints and time periods, often as if looking down from above and captures the spirit of the moment rather than exact places.

That is my proper art statement. Sort of. The chilled versions is that in 2019 I started painting again after an 11 year hiatus in which I focused on my career, traveled and started a family. My style has developed rapidly over the last few years as I am constantly trying to refine my process.
