The original artwork was created by building layers of medium. First, washed of ink and acrylic glazes are applied then ink and acrylic paint. Pattern is added to sections of the work and finally there are layers of collage in the form of hand dyed paper. This work is textured and has a transparent feel, the collage layers adding a shadowy impression across the surface.
This is a bright, vivid artwork in greens, pinks, oranges and golden tones and contrasting areas of violet and deep mauve. There are highlights of fluorescent pink softer areas of lemon yellow. The collage layers are in lilacs and blush.

This is a limited edition of 10 giclee print. The Hahnemuhle 310gsm cotton rag paper and the ink are archival quality. This German etching paper has a medium textured surface.

There is a 3cm white boarder.

I am interested the dynamic nature of memory, exploring how meaning and experience can change over time. As abstract landscapes, my work tends to have references to cartography and has developed rapidly over the past few years. My paintings are autobiographical and reference physical journeys and remembered experiences. They combine multiple viewpoints and time periods, often as if looking down from above and captures the spirit of the moment rather than exact places.

That is my proper art statement. Sort of. The chilled versions is that in 2019 I started painting again after an 11 year hiatus in which I focused on my career, traveled and started a family. My style has developed rapidly over the last few years as I am constantly trying to refine my process.
