Artwork Description

Heritage Oxblood is a piece made in response to a need to try representing something more realistic.

I enjoyed the challenge of the detail and simplicity of this piece. This piece is small and so I also had to use much smaller and detailed brushes which was interesting for me too.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am self taught and mostly inspired by interior design and fashion magazines that I devour and re-visit regularly. They open my eyes to different colour combinations, compositions, shapes and patterns that can be used to explore various themes and ideas.

Though I tend to favour acrylic paint; exploration and experimentation of different mediums and tools are important to me and so who knows where this wonderful journey will take me. I am keen to tackle oil paints next - that thick buttery texture is something I need in my life.

My work is abstract and mostly gestural and intuitive in nature. I love texture, brushstrokes, layers and movement. I am still working out my style but, I promise I am having fun while I figure it out and I hope that is communicated in my pieces.
