Artwork Description

Society doesn’t like strong, driven women who assert themselves, speak out against inequality and push for what they deserve, whether that be at home or in the workplace. Yet, women do it all: they must have children, cook dinner, keep a clean house, organise special occasions, attend school and sporting functions, go to work, have a side hustle and lay on her back for her man. And then, Mother Nature rewards us for all this by kicking our asses every month with PMS. It’s no wonder we women have a Super Bitch Complex.

This artwork was inspired by a vitamin that I was taking at the time to help manage my moods for PMS and the daily life juggle. I found it ironic that my bitchiness was being mocked by the title on the bottle: Super B Complex.

Upon purchase of this artwork, it will be professionally printed using archival inks and paper, ensuring a quality and statement piece for your home. My digital artworks are never reprinted, so this piece will belong to you only. This is an A1 size and is easily framed.

FAQ

What Is digital art?

Digital art is any artwork that uses or engages with digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process. It covers a wide range of techniques and formats, from digital drawings, paintings and illustration, to photos, videos and sculpture, to AI-generated art and AR art.

How are your artworks created?

I use procreate, which is a raster-based program that uses pixels to make an image. I use a digital pencil to draw and create my artworks. These images are from my own imagination and creativity. I do not use AI-generated art apps or programs, I simply choose to use a digital medium to bring my works to fruition.

Is digital art a legitimate art?

Absolutely! Digital art takes as much skill and time to master as it would any other medium. There is also the creative idea and time that the digital artist has put in to create an original artwork that is certainly seen as legitimate in the fine art world.

Is this artwork a physical product?

Yes! I send my images to a printing company who use museum grade, archival paper and inks – known as a giclee – to bring my digital artwork to life. Current printing technology means images are bright and sharp, with a large colour gamut and crisp detail.

Are these prints limited edition?

Very limited. Some digital artists choose to release editions of up to 100 of their artworks. I choose to limit mine to single editions because I value exclusivity for my customers. Once printed and signed, the image will not be printed again.

Artist Bio

Hi, I’m Lauren M, and a big thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio.

I’m an artist from Toowoomba, Queensland and I’m a mother to two equally crazy and creative kids. I work part time as a support worker and love being a part of the disability community.

I work in both digital media and oil paint - such opposing mediums I know, but both serve a purpose to bring to life the artwork I create.

I am inspired by the modern Australian narrative, but it’s not usually the flora and fauna, as beautiful as it is. I am more interested in subjects that invoke a memory or emotion from my childhood.
I paint and create what captures my attention - these subjects are typically overlooked, childlike objects that invoke a memory or emotion. These subjects are expressed in the pop art genre, where I can inject humour and a bright colour pallette, although lately I am finding myself dabbling in the contemporary still
life genre.
