Petal Party

'Petal Party' is an artwork from my Botanical Series. This series was a contemporary take on walking through a garden. This composition was inspired by rose petals which have fallen on the ground into a group, creating a really interesting and vibrant visual.

This artwork is bright and heavily textured making it a really happy and playful piece.

I have 4 small works in this series - they all compliment each other if you are looking for a larger visual involving multiple works.

The work is framed in a beautiful, rich dark wood.

Hi everyone, I'm Lauren!

I started my art journey painting people and portraits. I have always been interested and intrigued by people, their personalities, their energy and their story. I have entered The Archibald Prize three times so far and hope to one day become a finalist.

Recently I have pushed myself outside of my comfort zone of portraiture (albeit portraiture is extremely challenging!!) and have been experimenting with new subject matter including an 'Under The Sea' series and also a body of abstract work. Some of these works I will be sharing here on Bluethumb.

I feel so blessed to be immersed in art and I will keep creating for many years to come.
