This evocative abstract landscape is inspired by rain falling on area affected by bush fire. This is part of the "Rain" series.
I was walking at dusk and there was a light rain, the trees were illuminated by a low bank of clouds and the moon, there was also areas of the landscape that were golden from the last rays of the sun.
This area had been affected by a bush fire in previous months, so whilst there was regeneration in small shrubs and green sprouts on trees - there was still was black charcoal and ash present.
The lettering SH - is the word ASH but also Shhhh --- as in quiet or hush - because there was a deep peacefulness.
I tried to convey that soft calm, the rain but also the stark beauty of a land being regenerated.
Colours used are a deep navy blue for the sky and charcoal black, burnished gold, grey, shades of warm brown, beige and cream for the landscape.
This artwork ships in box - stretched and ready to hang.
