Silver Seaspray

This abstract landscape was inspired by the soft sea sand and washed up coral and shells.
This artwork is part of the Dune series traces areas of the coast.

The entire artwork shimmers as it is painted in pearl paint. Soft creams, off white, grey and silver tones. there are areas of gunmetal silver and metallic silver leaf.

The artwork is painted in acrylic and with highlights of charcoal and small areas of metallic silver leaf that changes colour depending on the angle of the viewer.

The full size is 152cm high x 149cm wide. After stretching it will be approximately 142 x 139cm - framing will be approximately147 x 144cm.
It is possible to make this a perfect square by trimming it slightly.
The FRAMED preview show s 142 x 139cm and the artwork flows to the edge of the canvas .

The signature is on the front of the artwork.
This artwork is un-stretched and ready to be framed or stretched.

Australian artist Laurie Franklin (b. 1981) is an established, internationally collected painter known for her layering of paint and mixed media to create tactile works ranging from mountains, seascapes to florals and abstracted forms.

Laurie has sold 1000s of artworks since starting painting in 2002, artwork is displayed in hotels, restaurants and held collections in over 20 countries. Past hotel projects have included 200m of hand painted wallpaper and hundreds of original artworks for hotel suites.

Based in Melbourne, Australia she works from a large studio space allowing several artworks to be worked on simultaneously. She travels and undertakes Art residencies around the world, the changing scenery influences her unique approach to capturing the intrinsic character of the landscape . Her gestural style, tight color palette and use of metallic elements create tactile, intriguing artworks.
