" I love to paint.... I need to paint to express my creative spirit"
Canadian born artist Laurie Cochrane grew up in Northern Ontario, Canada surrounded by lakes, rivers and stunning autumn colours. ( It is also the landscape of the famous Group of Seven painters) Cochrane has been exhibiting her paintings for more than 20 years. She graduated from Curtin University in Western Australia with a Bachelor or Fine Art.

Exploring the landscape through photography is a great source of inspiration for her paintings. Painting to Laurie is a way for her to express her gratitude to the natural world in a fresh and creative method. Notions of space and colour are evident in her contemporary works.

Laurie enjoys all painting mediums and lets the subject matter select the medium. She is skilled in watercolour, encaustic wax , mix media and oil painting.
Her use of colour and painterly style have won her many awards.

Cochrane's works are in public spaces and private collections in Australia, Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Japan.
