Budgie collage

This is an artwork for those that love budgies.....like I do!
As someone who has had pet budgies since I was a child, this is an artwork I had in mind for a while and I finally got around to creating it. I wanted to fill an entire page with beautiful budgie faces showing a variety of colours. If you have or have had a pet budgie of your own, you might find one here of similar colours to your own. All of these budgies are drawn from much loved pet budgies, two of which are my own (the blue and yellow ones with their eyes closed and beaks together). Budgerigars (native to Australia) are much loved pets all over the world.
This original drawing is on hot pressed water colour paper using artist quality coloured pencils. I have signed it on the back as I didn't want to disrupt my budgie collage arrangement/design.

This is a fun and happy looking artwork to brighten any wall.

My name is Leanne and I live in Sydney. I have a special interest in birds, Australian birds in particular. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by a lot of birds in my own garden where I find a lot of my inspiration. While I did study visual arts at University and was able to explore many different mediums, my major at University was actually in metal work. Years after working in the jewellery industry I have returned to my love of creating two-dimensional art using coloured pencils and acrylic paints.
