Drawn with artist quality coloured pencils on hot pressed water colour paper. This is a drawing of a Laughing Kookaburra that visits my own garden. Often seen perched on high places like this fence, scanning the ground for prey, kookaburras are beautiful Australian birds with unique feather patterns I love to draw.

My name is Leanne and I live in Sydney. I have a special interest in birds, Australian birds in particular. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by a lot of birds in my own garden where I find a lot of my inspiration. While I did study visual arts at University and was able to explore many different mediums, my major at University was actually in metal work. Years after working in the jewellery industry I have returned to my love of creating two-dimensional art using coloured pencils and acrylic paints.
