Native to inland regions of Australia, the pink cockatoo is one of Australia's most iconic bird species.
Well known for their pink feathers and beautiful yellow and orange crests, I enjoyed focusing on the feather patterns when painting this cockatoo in acrylic paint.
Exaggerating the colour intensity and putting against a lavender colour background I think makes for a happy and playful painting (much like the personalities of cockatoos).
Australian birds are my focus with my artworks.
Painted on stretched canvas and framed in a natural Tasmanian blackwood frame (sustainably sourced plantation grown). The frame is wide enough for this painting to stand on it's own to decorate a shelf, desk or table or hung on your wall with the attached wire on back.
I have signed this painting on the side which is hidden by the frame (I didn't want a distraction on the painting itself) so I signed again on the wooden frame on back. Comes with a certificate of Authenticity.
