Signed on the front.

The story... I discovered the NGV gardens while visiting the Triennial this year (2024). There were people taking a break enjoying the sunshine like me and in particular I liked this scene and could see the potential for painting those bright flowers against the dark foliage in the shadows.
This piece is unframed but I have included a photo to show what it could look like with white mat and black frame, this combination can be chosen from bluethumb or you might like a white or oak frame.

A bunch of deep red burgundy gerberas with yellow to orange circular centres in a glass bottle with water on a pale peach and aqua background. The light is also creating a large shadow behind the flower arrangement which is part of the composition. The foreground is sandy dune vegetation and behind this is the view of the turquoise to deep blue sea at West Beach. The sky is the top third and is has some wispiness indicating cloudsAn orchid bloom held upright with a clip onto a stake. The stake and stem are delicate and thin. There are two white blooms facing the viewer, one facing away and two unopened green buds. The background is silvery grey with other tonal colours interspersed in visible brush strokes. There are brush strokes visible in the petals of the flowers which are ostensibly white but rendered in cool and warm green tones of white. The centre hood of the flowers has cool red yellow markings inside. A small leafy green citrus bush is planted in a round grey planter .
