The foreground is sandy dune vegetation and behind this is the view of the turquoise to deep blue sea at West Beach. The sky is the top third and is has some wispiness indicating clouds

An orchid bloom held upright with a clip onto a stake. The stake and stem are delicate and thin. There are two white blooms facing the viewer, one facing away and two unopened green buds. The background is silvery grey with other tonal colours interspersed in visible brush strokes. There are brush strokes visible in the petals of the flowers which are ostensibly white but rendered in cool and warm green tones of white. The centre hood of the flowers has cool red yellow markings inside.
