I am inspired by the light and beauty I see around every corner and I am enthusiastic to tackle many subjects. Flowers in the garden or as still life are certainly one of my loves and I also love to paint beautiful beach scenes. I am aiming to develop a loose, painterly, representational style. I work full time but always find time for my painting which helps me connect with myself and be present. The beautiful thing is that I can also connect to others through painting and it’s always so fulfilling to discover someone else who finds something special in what I paint. I regularly attend workshops to develop my skills and connect with other artists.
I enter competitions and show at local exhibitions here and there so please check my profile details to see what I am up to in that space.
A few points about my practise and work
- I use professional artist quality pigments and materials
- the varnish I use enhances the colours and protects the painting but is also removable with solvent later down the track if required (Gamvar by Gamblin)
- I prefer to sell unframed on bluethumb so the buyer can make their own choice. A few of my pieces have frames already though
