Brunswick is a well-known suburb of my hometown of Melbourne, noted for its students and artist population. I drew on the vibrant nature of graffiti art, which I love for its bold colours and emphatic styling, to reflect the lively creative scene of the area.

N.B. We regard graffiti art as an important and exciting branch of artistic endeavour and it is a source of inspiration for our work. We hope to play our part in helping the art world to acknowledge its importance, and the paintings that contain street graffiti are often inspired by works we have seen from around the world. When we use elements of other artists' graffiti we make every reasonable effort to contact the original street artist, although for obvious reasons this is not always feasible.
