L.A Nights

Los Angeles is a city I find both fascinating and disturbing, with its strange combination of immense wealth and drug ridden poverty. I've tried to get both of these elements into this painting, with the immense skyscrapers in the background brooding over the fiery suburbs. I've deliberately chosen an almost muddy palette to bring out the contradictions inherent in the city.
