Between Selves

Between Selves explores the uncertainty of identity and the tension between conflicting internal states. Through the use of fragmented and interacting figures, the work aims to capture the experience of being caught between different versions of the self.

I'm a figurative painter living on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. My work explores psychological tension through fragmented figures and dream like environments which sit somewhere between memory, emotion and subconscious activity. Painting acts as an outlet which allows me to explore and process internal states which would otherwise be undiscovered. Through distortion, atmosphere and layering, I try to give form to emotional experiences that feel unresolved or unconscious.
