Intrusion

Intrusion explores the struggle of preserving the inner child through adulthood. I often experience adult life as emotionally draining, and this work reflects the subconscious impact those external pressures can have on our internal world. Through fragmented forms, abstract textures, and hostile shapes, I attempt to visualise the way the mind absorbs and interprets emotional tension.

I'm a figurative painter living on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. My work explores psychological tension through fragmented figures and dream like environments which sit somewhere between memory, emotion and subconscious activity. Painting acts as an outlet which allows me to explore and process internal states which would otherwise be undiscovered. Through distortion, atmosphere and layering, I try to give form to emotional experiences that feel unresolved or unconscious.
