The simple things are often the most interesting. I wanted to show the colourful beauty of fish and how they are mirrored in each other.

I am an emerging contemporary acrylic painter from Lutruwita (Tasmania). Using acrylic paint, I like to work fast and be immersed in the process to create an evocative landscape or stylised still life. Using photo references and sketches, I investigate mark making and unconventional colour combinations to explore my own emotional response. I would describe myself as a colourist who loves mixing colours and developing a sense of joy through interesting textures and gestural brushstrokes. Creating an intriguing image that draws you in, has harmonious colours and is beautiful is the motivation behind each painting.
I am also a passionate teacher of art and started my own art school (with my husband) in Launceston in 2019 called Paint the Town red. We love seeing people enjoy creating and surprising themselves with their masterpieces.
