"Pelican Dawn" was taken on the Gippsland Lakes whilst I was in a boat photographing local fishermen. As the sun rose and the orange mist was rising two large pelicans glided in like stealth. They had heard the noises from the boat of the fisherman and tracked us down through the fog in the hope of getting some fish thrown their way. It was a wonderful encounter with nature. We were in their world in the most beautiful of settings. Prints of other sizes and stretched canvas are also available on request.
After more than 25 years working in Australia’s media as a photographer and Photo Editor I am now freelancing and working on various projects including “The Last of the Gippsland Lakes Fishermen” exhibition and photography for the 175th anniversary for Melbourne Botanical gardens book “Wonder” . I never leave home without a camera. My photography features the unique character and beauty of my hometown Melbourne. Be it the cities reflections at dawn on the Yarra, the natural beauty of our urban wildlife, to the city streets architecture in different light.
