Leigh Johnson is a Hobart-born writer and illustrator now based in Sydney’s Inner West, where he splits his time between his desk, his sketchbook, and the local playgrounds with his two young sidekicks. After 15 years in art education, Leigh now channels his love of creativity into artworks about Australia and stories that spark big ideas in little readers.
His illustration work invites children to imagine, invent, and create using just a few simple materials and a whole lot of imagination—because he believes the best adventures start with a question and a piece of cardboard.
Leigh works on any flat surface, be it paper, board, canvas, tablets if you are after digital works and on walls if you want a mural.
