Inspiration is the force that guides my hand and leads me through an art project. I attended numerous art courses and classes, studied from distinguished Australian and international artists. My dedicated studies allowed me to master my painting skills in major media such as watercolour, gouache, pastels, oil. Though the effects of those studies were a bit specific in my case. I very much excelled in fine drawing and painting.
I always enjoyed painting landscapes and seascapes or flowers. But I also like challenging myself by executing high complexity realistic figurative art. My strong drawing foundation allowed me to develop my own meaningful artistic style.
I am trying to participate in various physical art shows. Sometimes it produces an immediate result when my artwork got sold. I have sold few paintings via physical exhibitions. Each time a positive result brings a great satisfaction.
It was a great pleasure attending my physical solo exhibition. I saw visitors pointing at my paintings and discussing them.
In February 2024 I started new series of Fantasy / Fairies paintings. Every one of them is a very elaborate oil painting on linen which takes months to complete. Despite a fantasy theme, in fact, it is a kind of realistic spiritual figurative art. Few contemporary artists working in that direction.
The paintings could be viewed via Facebook or Pinterest if not available on Bluethumb for purchase.
I was born and grew up in a small Jewish family in a beautiful city Lviv - an ancient cultural centre located in western Ukraine. In my childhood I did well in drawing classes at school. From age of 14 I used to do some fine quick pencil sketches. An art activity was a tradition in my family, but I was also interested in science and after school decided to study engineering. I completed a diploma and then, a degree in engineering. As part of my studies, I was trained in technical drafting and calligraphy. In 1992 I moved to Australia. Studied again and then worked for few decades.
I retired from work in 2019 and soon after decided to do Art full time It was a life changing decision which greatly improved my quality of life. After retirement I didn't do much of volunteer work: just occasionally helping with gallery seating and other exhibition's related duties. It was really a goodbye to paid work. Unexpectedly things changed. My art hobby received a supplement funding - a small but regular contract work: in second part of 2023 I started teaching art to NDIS's clients as a complementary part of an Art Therapy treatment. Later, due to entertaining potential of the art class some NDIS's staff/carers have been also included.
Bluethumb online Gallery is providing a great chance for my Art to be seen by public via Internet.
Hopefully I won't get discouraged any time soon and will create many artworks over next 10 -15 years.
