Artist Bio

Hi, my name's Letisha Norris. I have only recently been taking art and my "creative self" seriously and feel I have been wasting my potential for far too long for fear of failure and insecurities. I've always felt a sense of easiness with art, perspective and colour and visual choices, but I had always thought this was not anything special and I wasn't particularly talented. I come to realise that perhaps I am special, its not too late, I'm not too old and it's time to produce as much creative work as I want and can! I picked up coloured pencils last year to draw and friends dog she lost and I had amazing feedback for the work... I haven't looked back since! I have been drawing whenever I get a chance, all hours of the night and day... my mental health has never been better! My favourite things to draw are animals of all kinds, I love capturing their unique details and personalities through my artwork. I've recently opened up to one-two pet portrait or wildlife commissions a week as the demand was so high :) I love the joy that comes from capturing a person's pet in a one-of-a-kind detailed portrait. I also love human faces and portraiture, bright colours and unique whimsical elements. No medium is out-of-bounds for me.. coloured pencils allow me to capture minute crisp details and realism that only pencils can, I also love graphite and challenging myself to produce work with just one or two pencils. I also have a fondness for softness and expressionism that comes from soft pastels and watercolours and plan to dabble alot more with these!

I am a mum of two young children and I stay home most days as I have a chronic illness called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). My focus at the moment, is to produce as much work as I can, I can feel myself growing and becoming more artistically knowledgable with every single piece I complete. Just know, that if you buy a piece of my artwork, so much love and work goes into everything I create and you will not only be purchasing my work, but also a piece of me.
