Artist Bio

Lewis Burns is a Tubba-Gah Wiradjuri man.
He is a renowned practitioner, Master Carver, didgeridoo performer and cultural leader. He has been learning about his Aboriginal culture for as long as he can remember.
He continues practising and respecting these life skills daily and continues to learn and grow from this ancient knowledge.

Lewis paints in the traditional Wiradjuri style but is known for his detailed and unique contemporary style. Lewis is one of Country’s most identifiable narrators through optics, thanks to his adaptation of design techniques and colour. He has exhibited and performed globally with his handcrafted didgeridoos, narration through optics, dance, and choreography. Lewis is a respected Elder on his Ancestral Homelands and throughout the country. He holds the role of an Educator and is dedicated to teaching young people about culture and helping them master their discipline to grow on their cultural journey.
