Maggie in Paradise

My inspiration is from watching a mother magpie and her 3 young grey magpies hop along our lawn. The young come close to me, but the mother sings her song and they fly away. We also have hibiscus in our garden so I can imagine the magpies wandering amongst the beautiful hibiscus flowers.

My current passion is painting, although I also have a strong love of ceramics and printmaking.
Growing up, I was a member of The Gould League of Bird Lovers, which was devoted to educating students on bird protection and their environment. I am fortunate to live in the wilds of suburbia amongst Sydney’s abundant bird life that are attracted to our native and exotic plants. My paintings are based on my daily feathered visitors, blending their bold personalities with a touch of fantasy.
