Artwork Description

I live next to the Kuranda National Park in Cairns, Australia. The rainforest is a vibrant and changing landscape that I continue to try and capture though my paintings. The changing forms and colours of each season is part of a continuous challenge to capture in paint.

Artist Bio

Thank you for your interest in my art.

I studied art in Melbourne over a period of 5 years at the Melbourne Art School, Victorian Artists Society and RMIT. I enjoy working in a wide range of mediums, oil painting, acrylics, lino prints, monotypes and sculpture.

I moved to Cairns a few years ago and this has allowed much more time to focus on my art practice. My current inspiration is around my living environment in Cairns, backing onto the Kuranda range, the rainforest is showing me new wonders and challenges. I continue to seek out ways to capture and express the colour, light, shapes and mood of the tropics.
I am also interested in feminism, specifically in the expression of women. I look to find ways to reveal my own experiences as a women in a way that is not influenced by the historical male gaze. It is an ongoing theme that will take some time for me to resolve throughout all artistic mediums that I explore.
