Lifting Layers

Inspired by a trip to the local footy in Jabiru, Kakadu. Where the shipping container was placed on the edge of the grounds. Pale warm whites and details of peeling paint. Dribbles of paint, impression of peeling letters. Industrial appearance. Layers of time. Layering tonal colours, giving a 3 dimensional appearance. Intriguing.

I have a Diploma of Visual Arts and a Graduate Diploma of Education plus 15 years of teaching experience in Secondary Schools and 23 years teaching from my Studio in Traralgon.

Over the years I have had many group and solo exhibitions - Gippsland Art Gallery Sale, Yarram Courthouse Gallery, Beechworth Art Gallery, Tacit Art Gallery in Collingwood. etc. I have participated in several local Art Shows (Like Tyers Art Show) and won Awards.

I have a lifetime of involvement with producing and teaching Art.

My Interest in many mediums and art Styles is evident in the wide range of art work that I produce. I choose the medium that best fits the task.

Living in the country with a farming background, I have a strong interest and connection to landscape, bushfires, animals, organic textures, and erosion of surfaces. Mostly producing realist art across a broad range of subjects.

I have done many portraits and commissions across all mediums and a variety of subject matter.
