Inspired by the sight of the sun rising on an early morning hike, I determined to try and bring to life the warm orange light reflected on the foreground leaves, with the depth of distance as trees receded down the gully. My camera failed to take a satisfactory photo, so I worked in the studio from a labelled diagram I had made in situ!
I learned this artwork after The Beatles' song Here Comes the Sun, because the sight of the sunrise caused it to start playing in my head!
