Inspired by the sight of the sun rising on an early morning hike, I wanted to bring to life the warm orange light reflected on the foreground leaves, with the depth of distance as trees receded down the gully. My camera failed to take a satisfactory photo, so I worked in the studio from a labelled diagram I had made in situ!
I learned this artwork after The Beatles' song Here Comes the Sun, because the sight of the sunrise caused it to start playing in my head!
