Inspired by the graceful curves of the Tweed River in northern NSW, All the Light Touches captures the beauty of flowing waterways and the ever-changing dance of light across the landscape. This large-scale piece is a fusion of movement, depth, and brilliance, created using my signature hatched painting style with layered abstract lines that pulse with energy.

Acrylic paint, 24k gold leaf, and a glass-finish resin coating unite to bring this artwork to life. The reflective gold leaf accent highlights the river’s meandering path, while the high-gloss resin amplifies the luminosity of the layered hues, creating a shifting interplay of color as you engage with the piece. The resin, both UV-resistant and heat-resistant up to 80°C, preserves the vibrancy and depth of the artwork, ensuring its lasting presence in any space.

Lillian Beales is a contemporary abstract artist based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Originally from South Africa, she immigrated with her family in 2019, bringing with her a lifelong fascination with color, light, and texture. From an early age, Lillian was drawn to large-scale art as a way to immerse herself in vibrant, expressive creations, allowing her to translate emotions and experiences onto canvas.

Her work is distinguished by intricate hatched-line layering, creating a confetti-like effect of color and texture. Using acrylic paint, gold leaf, copper, and resin gloss, she builds dynamic compositions that shift with light, evoking movement and depth. Inspired by the natural world, her paintings often reflect topographical views of waterways, the fluidity of the ocean, and the refraction of light through glass.

Lillian’s 'Refraction' series explores the perception of color as it bends and transforms, much like how light dances across water. Her largest work, 'All the Light Touches,' draws from the golden hour’s warmth and the beauty of the Tweed River, while 'Susurration' captures the cool, iridescent tones of a Paua shell.
