Artwork Description

‘SUSURRATION’ - 750 X 600. No. 2024-002

Acrylic, 24k Gold Leaf & Resin on Canvas Wood Panel, unframed, ready to hang.

An artwork from my REFRACTION series, a deconstruction of perception as if viewed through a window.

Susurration, hear the ocean sounds. Inspired by the Pau shell, the ears of the ocean and a symbol of new beginnings and hope. Interpreted using my signature hatched painting style.

This painting is created on canvas and stretched and adhered onto a wood panel board. Thousands of vibrant hatched lines are placed intuitively, aligned with intention, making every piece unique and never again to be replicated, creating depth and movement that you will discover as you move about the artwork.
Each artwork has a unique gold leaf accent that tells a story and draws the eye, inspired by the shapes and defining features of each theme.

My paintings are glossy resin coated, with painted edges and signed on the back. Each artwork arrives ready to hang with hardware installed on the back of the canvas.

FREIGHT & DELIVERY:
I package my paintings securely in twin walled card, and recycled bubble wrap, with corner protectors. Each artwork arrives in its own custom cotton sleeve, trimmed in gold hand sewn blanket stitch made by myself as a gift to you, for rub protection, safe keeping and storage.

All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and a note from me to you.
Thank you for your interest in my work, this means the world to me to create something that you love.

Artist Bio

Lillian Beales is a contemporary abstract artist based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Originally from South Africa, she immigrated with her family in 2019, bringing with her a lifelong fascination with color, light, and texture. From an early age, Lillian was drawn to large-scale art as a way to immerse herself in vibrant, expressive creations, allowing her to translate emotions and experiences onto canvas.

Her work is distinguished by intricate hatched-line layering, creating a confetti-like effect of color and texture. Using acrylic paint, gold leaf, copper, and resin gloss, she builds dynamic compositions that shift with light, evoking movement and depth. Inspired by the natural world, her paintings often reflect topographical views of waterways, the fluidity of the ocean, and the refraction of light through glass.

Lillian’s 'Refraction' series explores the perception of color as it bends and transforms, much like how light dances across water. Her largest work, 'All the Light Touches,' draws from the golden hour’s warmth and the beauty of the Tweed River, while 'Susurration' captures the cool, iridescent tones of a Paua shell.

Beyond creating art, Lillian shares her process and inspirations with her growing audience, inviting collectors into the world behind each piece.
Through her work, Lillian aims to evoke feelings of peace, wonder, and connection—allowing viewers to experience the beauty of color and light in new and unexpected ways.
