Artwork Description

This piece is all about light as a symbol for change and new understanding. The figure sits quietly, in a humble and thoughtful pose, surrounded by colour and gentle light. I wanted to capture that feeling of surrender and reflection, those moments when we let go and let something brighter in.
It’s a reminder that transformation often starts in stillness and openness.

I'm a self-taught figurative oil painter based in Brisbane, Australia.
My work straddles both the temporal and spiritual worlds. I paint mostly large-scale, symbolic paintings built from rich, layered colour and intention.
I like to explore moments that are hard to name but easy to recognise and relate to when you see it.
I gravitate towards work you can live with for years and keep finding new things in.
My process is intuitive and unhurried, each painting built up in layers until it sings! And my colour palette leans into gemstone tones. I love working with deep crimsons, rich teals, burnished golds and navy blues.
