Many Moving As One

The murmuration is strong with these Starlings. They carry out the movement paying attention to the seven next to them. A Starling does not need the whole picture, but moves with those nearest, as the wind carries them.

I'm a self-taught figurative oil painter based in Brisbane, Australia.
My work straddles both the temporal and spiritual worlds. I paint mostly large-scale, symbolic paintings built from rich, layered colour and intention.
I like to explore moments that are hard to name but easy to recognise and relate to when you see it.
I gravitate towards work you can live with for years and keep finding new things in.
My process is intuitive and unhurried, each painting built up in layers until it sings! And my colour palette leans into gemstone tones. I love working with deep crimsons, rich teals, burnished golds and navy blues.
