Artwork Description

This borzoi was painted in 2014, it was inspired by dutch delft blue patterns, and it incorporates wifi, bluetooth, and other smart phone symbols. At the time of painting this I had recently returned home to Australia, and been given my first hand-me-down iPhone. I created a series around the patterns, to me they symbolised connection to loved ones across the globe. When you live overseas for any amount of time you realise how important connection is, and how good it is to be able to talk to your loved ones. Due to its age and how far it has travelled, this painting has a bit of wear on the corners, but it hasn't affected the painting. Please see photos and feel free to email me for more!

Artist Bio

Artist, illustrator, engineer. Sharing the things I make and living on a beautiful mountain. 🎨

I love painting in different styles and creating whatever takes my fancy. I like to think you can see my voice in each piece I create. I love making still life, landscape, portraits, woodworking, and colour pencil illustrations

My work has been exhibited all around the world and is held by numerous private collectors. I've had my work featured in publications including Frankie, Little White Lies (UK), Yen, NYLON, Elle Girl (South Korea), as well as countless others. You can find my illustrations on all 10 Aussie covers of the Friday Barnes series by R.A. Spratt.

My experience in illustration includes advertising, children’s book illustration, textile design, editorials, asset creation for an animated TV commercial. Clients include Penguin Random House Australia, Oxfam America, Officeworks, and Saatchi & Saatchi.

I also lived in Germany for years and am fluent in the language and loved visiting museums when I lived there. You can see the influence of my time there in my still life paintings.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Thanks very much for your time and for having a look at my art. :)
