Artwork Description

Inspired from a fishing trip located in the Gulf of Carpentaria called Rosie’s River. We spent the whole day fishing out of our tiny, and when hooking up to a mangrove jack there would be 10 others swimming behind the one we hooked! I kept one and that night and cooked it up whole over the fire for dinner.

Artist Bio

‘Warning’ please message me before purchasing art- I’ve been having issues not being able to get in contact with bluethumb and I don’t feel secure sending my art through them at this moment!’

I grew up on the sunny coast QLD, and was lucky enough to live on acreage, most my childhood was spent outdoors, swimming in the lake or the dam, going on trail rides, and making rope swings in the mango tree. Once finishing school it was time to explore more of the country.

Having travelled to many unique places around the country, my passion for animals and the outdoors has given me many experiences and memories which fuels my creativity and inspiration for art. My aim is to create a work that can tell a story or to capture my memories and hope that other people can relate to it and connect with also.

In 2016 and 2017 I lived in the east Kimberley region, Australia's last frontier which boosted my passion to capture the beauty of the flora and fauna that was everywhere. From fishing down the Lower Ord River in a tinny surrounded by the most unreal bird life everywhere and crocs bigger than the boat, to remote barely touched waterfalls and the hidden hot springs.

During high school back in 2014, I started to explore Lino printing and in 2018 this medium became my main focus. Main reason being was that a few years ago, a family friend walked though my parents house and saw my first ever lino print I did in back in high school and told me I should do more Lino prints. I also love how the medium slowed me down, each line you cut out takes time and precision, if you rush it and cut to much or cut in the wrong spot, it’s done, you can’t just paint over it.

I love to work with various mediums, including oil painting, water colour, ceramics and beading.
