Artwork Description

Triptych. Three individual paintings, each one 152 x 92 x 4.
A memorial to the 2019-2020 ‘Black Summer’ bushfires, the worst New South Wales (NSW) has ever recorded.
The community of Cobargo was the hardest hit, with 70 homes lost, including the artist's 50 year old hand-built bush-house on the Brass Knocker Creek, five facilities destroyed, 168 outbuildings lost and a further 33 homes damaged.

Artist Bio

Lin Van Hek is an Australian writer, singer, painter, designer and artist.
She is described by Booker Prize-winning author Keri Hulme as writing "like an angel giving the devil her due.
She was a vice-president of the Society of Women Writers and co-founder of the literary-music group, Difficult Women.
2015 Best Australian Poems, edited by Geoff Page.
2016 & 2017 winner of the Society of Women Writers short story contest.

She sang the song "Intimacy"in the US blockbuster film, The Terminator.

She has worked for over two decades with a group of women in North Vietnam designing, manufacturing and trading in hand-embroidered silk garments and textiles with a focus on fair trade and worker ethics.

She is a prolific painter.
