Linda Abblitt is a Melbourne based artist with Tasmanian roots. She has always been creative, and has dabbled in many different art forms over the years. However she didn’t get serious about her art till 2009 when she started a Diploma in Visual Arts (Printmaking) at the Tasmanian Polytechnic. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to complete the course due to a work transfer to WA, but during her time in the course she gravitated towards woodcuts and developed her own style. Linda mainly focuses on portraits, and Australian wildlife.
Since relocating to Victoria, Linda has been actively involved with the Artists Collective of Melton. Due to the influence of her fellow artists there she has begun doing more painting, and particularly enjoys the unpredictability of fluid art.
Linda loves experimenting, and she will try anything. She is keen to meld her photography and printmaking even more by doing a course in photopolymer printing during 2019.
