Artwork Description

Inspired by a winter walk through the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan, this painting celebrates the vibrant forms of the clay wattle emerging amongst soft mauve eremophila and silvery grasses. Created using a deliberately limited palette over an ultramarine underpainting, the work explores colour harmony, layered foliage and the quiet beauty of Australian native landscapes.

Artist Bio

Linda J. Ereaut Douglass is a contemporary Australian artist whose work is inspired by the richness and diversity of the Australian landscape. Working in oils and acrylics, she is drawn to the colour, light and distinctive forms of native flora, creating paintings that balance careful observation with personal interpretation.

Rather than working within a single visual style, Linda allows each subject to develop its own visual language. Her practice is driven by curiosity and an ongoing exploration of atmosphere, colour and the quiet character of Australia's botanical landscapes.

Working from her Sydney studio, Linda continues to explore gardens, bushland and native flora through a contemporary lens. Her paintings invite viewers to slow down, look more closely and discover the subtle beauty and complexity found in familiar places.
