Artwork Description

I have been obsessed with Marilyn Monroe since a child. Drawn to her eclipsing beauty and ability to take over the silver screen, Norma Jean Baker, the buxom, blonde bombshell continues to fascinate both sexes. Despite over 60 years since her death, her screen presence and beauty transcends time. Monroe remains an intriguing character for both artists and actors alike. Conspiracy theories and 'cover-ups' relating to her death continue to fuel her existence in the artistic space.

Artist Bio

I have always been fascinated by art from a young age. In 1988, I began my journey in the arts by pursuing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Launceston's Tasmanian State Institute of Technology. However, in 2020, a change in circumstances led me to continue my artistic journey by undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania's School of Creative Arts. Through my studies, I have had the opportunity to explore unconventional processes, techniques, materials, and ways of interpreting the world through contemporary art.

I find inspiration in emotional states, events, and the often-overlooked beauty of the natural world. My goal is to capture what I envision and sense in my artwork. For me, the process of creation is just as important as the final outcome. I have no interest in mass producing my art or confining myself to specific mediums or styles. Instead, I prefer to rely on my instincts to achieve honest interpretations.
