Artwork Description

Geodes are the most stunningly beautiful unadulterated gifts from nature and have a seemingly limitless array of colours. In combination with raw crystal points, the resin is my interpretation of the waterways and reefs found in the Great Barrier Reef.

Artist Bio

I have always been fascinated by art from a young age. In 1988, I began my journey in the arts by pursuing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Launceston's Tasmanian State Institute of Technology. However, in 2020, a change in circumstances led me to continue my artistic journey by undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania's School of Creative Arts. Through my studies, I have had the opportunity to explore unconventional processes, techniques, materials, and ways of interpreting the world through contemporary art.

I find inspiration in emotional states, events, and the often-overlooked beauty of the natural world. My goal is to capture what I envision and sense in my artwork. For me, the process of creation is just as important as the final outcome. I have no interest in mass producing my art or confining myself to specific mediums or styles. Instead, I prefer to rely on my instincts to achieve honest interpretations.
