Blue

My favourite colour is blue, which explains why when I was painting this abstract piece I gravitated towards all the shades of blue in my paint collection. This abstract piece is a combination of many marks and textures with undertones of pinks and creams. Perfect for any space that requires a calming effect.

South Australian-born artist Linda Wilson has lived and worked in the Kimberley since 2004, where the region’s people and landscapes continue to inspire her practice. Over more than 20 years, she has explored a wide range of media including etching, linocut printing, watercolour, acrylic, and oil painting.

While much of her work reflects the vibrant energy of the Kimberley, Linda also paints still life and home scenes that celebrate everyday beauty and belonging, as well as imaginative works that venture into fantasy.

Based in Derby on Nyikina/Warrwa land, Linda has received recognition including the Overall Winner of the Kimberley Art Prize 2024 and the Works on Paper Award 2023.
